Alonissos, third in line after Skiathos and Skopolos is the quietest inhabited
island in the group known as the Sporades. It offers many small quiet beaches
with crystal clear waters, natural sleepy harbours with colourful fishing
boats, and a rugged natural landscape with spectacular views. The scenery
is quite amazing and the light incredible. Some say May is the most beautiful
month to enjoy the wild flowers that adorn the hillsides and beaches alike,
although the island remains green and tranquil even in the summer heat.

| Having first taught painting on the island over 20years ago and now
owning a house there, Chris has a great knowledge and affinity with Alonissos. Welcoming complete beginners or more skilled artists, Chris will show you his own style and technique. Once you have decided your own style he can help you develop and improve your drawing and the application of your watercolour paint to achieve, in a relatively short time, results you will be more than satisfied with. |

Because
Chris is resident on the island from the beginning of May through to October,
it is possible to have as much or as little tuition during this time to
suit. This could be individual, families or groups. Contact Chris direct to discuss arrangements. |

The painting tuition per week will vary from demonstrations by the teacher himself, travelling to as many different locations as possible, critiques and a final exhibition of work. Chris will be your teacher and guide every day - his style is low key, non pressured and humorous. | ![]() |
With approximately 3 and a half hours per day allocated to tuition time you have the rest of the day to continue painting or you can relax, explore and become bewitched by this beautiful island. Indeed, non-painting partners will find plenty to do including walking, homeopathy and yoga to name but a few. Chris's wife Jane is a keen walker and is happy to be the guide for non painting partners if they wish to explore the many and various walks of Alonissos. Walks are organised to tie in with painting classes, with painters and walkers meeting up for lunch, usually at one of the beach tavernas. Details on request. |

The island
is almost a perfect location for a painting holiday. Although certainly
not flat - there is tremendous variety from mountainous wooded slopes,
a hilltop village, unspoilt ancient houses, wonderful seascape vistas,
traditional working harbours and wildflower and fauna to make you want
to return again and again. In addition to his extensive knowledge of painting, Chris also knows the best restaurants, tavernas and cake shops to be found on Alonissos! |
